Crucible:Castle D'Image
In the 19th century, the wealthy D'Image family, led by esoteric scholar Duval D'Image, relocated their ancient family castle from France to a site just outside Boston, Massachusetts. The D'Images were fascinated by the occult and, at the time. the castle had one of the world's largest collection of occult books, codex, scrolls, and art.
The last of the D'Images, Blaise, disappeared on a dark rainy night around the turn of the century when Boston was battered by the largest storm anyone could remember. The castle was struck by tremendous lightning bolts many times that night, and when the sun arose the place was discovered to be empty of all life. The library, too, was empty. At first it was assumed that the family had fled the unheated, leaky, drafty old castle in terror, taking their huge library with them, and the castle was abandoned and fell into disrepair. However, it was later discovered by the sorceress Arcana that the castle was a place where the walls between the worlds had become dangerously thinned. She put magical guards in place to protect the city.
Later, the sorcerer Lotus purchased and took up residence in the Castle. He later turned it into a magical headquarters for the super-team Nexus.
