There are said to be a million gods in Jhelum.
No one has counted them.

- A god of a single household
- A presence tied to a single tree
All are real—to those who believe.
Worship
Worship takes many forms:
- Offerings of food, coin, or blood
- Festivals and processions
- Quiet prayers at roadside shrines
A person may honor many gods—or none.
Temples And Priests
Temples are centers of power:
- Places of learning
- Keepers of tradition
- Brokers of influence
Priests are not always kind—and never powerless.
Hungry Gods
Some gods demand more:
- Blood
- Obedience
- Acts that test the faithful
These gods are feared—and often obeyed.
Forgotten Gods
The jungle hides:
- Shrines long abandoned
- Idols no longer named
- Powers that have not faded
To wake such a god is dangerous.
The Truth Of It
Whether there are a million gods or only a few wearing many faces…
No one in Jhelum is foolish enough to assume the answer.
