Real Name: Mark Masters

Background: During the Golden Age, policeman Mark Masters investigated a robbery at a Los Angeles museum, and discovered a band of Nazi spies attempting to steal ancient magical artifacts belonging to the Knights Templar. He soon tracked down and recovered the artifacts. Later, a spirit within the artifacts spoke to Masters, telling him to assume the mantle of a Templar, an ancient defender of truth and justice. He took up an ancient blessed shield and joined the battle against injustice. He soon became an active member of the Midnight Men and battled occult menaces.

Decades later, Boston police officer Dinah Davis assumed the modern mantle of the Templar.

Powers: Templar was able to sense supernatural menaces at great distances. As well, he possessed superhuman strength and toughness.

Skills: Templar was an expert hand-to-hand combatant. He was also thoroughly educated in magic as part of his training.

Technology: Templar used archaic medieval weaponry in battle. His shield made him impervious to magical spells.
