Real Name: Kozmo Gagarin

Background: During the Silver Age, the Soviet Union created the New Soviet Man project to evolve national superheroes for the Soviet people. They attempted to instill superhuman abilities in ordinary people, but at the cost of many lives. One of the few survivors of the project was teenaged Kozmo Gagarin, who gained superior physical attributes and the ability to control light and heat. Kid Sputnik battled alongside his partner, the Soviet hero known as Red Star. Later, he was attached to PHASE II as one of their super-operatives.

During the Bronze Age, Kid Sputnik defected to the United States and opened a tavern in New York City called The Little Bear. After his untimely demise, he willed the bar to the novice superhero Kodiak, who reopened it under the name The Bear's Den.

Status: Deceased. Passed from multiple cancers during the Bronze Age.

Powers: Kid Sputnik could control photonic energies for offensive and defensive purposes. He could fly using a special "photonic rocket" tailored for his unique powers.
