The superhero team known as the Sentries were formed by Dr. Nathaniel Nova with the goal of combating the threat of evil genius Michael Sargon. Although they never brought Sargon to justice, they did stop many of his plans. They also battled many menaces during their tenure. They were based in a secret location in the Rocky Mountains.
The Sentries membership consisted of:
- Soundwave I (Duncan Black): Soundwave invented a suit that gave him control over sound.
- Viceroy (John Mackey): The space-travelling hero was a mainstay of the team. Always strong-willed, he argued many times with Soundwave over team decisions.
- Jade I (Melissa Barnes) was Earth-Prime's original Jade, whose body had been symbiotically linked with an alien crystal intelligence, now deceased. The current Jade is her counterpart from an alternate timeline.
- M (Shawn Michaels): a parahuman with control over magnetism, he later left the team to join Watchstar 2, before morphing into a new form as Quantum.
- Raven (Lisa Sakura): The ninja called Raven was an agent of PHASE II, and provided the team with intelligence and spy capabilities.
The Sentries reunited briefly during the Hero Wars, when Jade was killed and M was infected by the alien virus that caused him to gain new powers.
