== Background ==

Julian Li’s early life is largely undocumented, and he has made little effort to clarify it. He has stated that he grew up on the West Coast and is of Chinese ancestry, but beyond that, details are sparse and often deliberately withheld.

What is known is that, at some point prior to establishing the Academy, Li accumulated extensive knowledge in fields ranging from psionics to ancient civilizations. Whether this knowledge was acquired through conventional study, personal experience, or other means remains unclear.
