Doctor Julian Li is the founder and headmaster of the Pacific Academy, a school dedicated to the education and training of young superhumans. A figure of considerable intellect and even greater mystery, Li is widely regarded as one of the most powerful psychics on Earth and one of the foremost authorities on superhuman phenomena.
Background
[edit]Julian Li’s early life is largely undocumented, and he has made little effort to clarify it. He has stated that he grew up on the West Coast and is of Chinese ancestry, but beyond that, details are sparse and often deliberately withheld.
What is known is that, at some point prior to establishing the Academy, Li accumulated extensive knowledge in fields ranging from psionics to ancient civilizations. Whether this knowledge was acquired through conventional study, personal experience, or other means remains unclear.
He does not volunteer the answer.
Pacific Academy
[edit]Dr. Li founded the Pacific Academy as a place where young superhumans—particularly those with emerging or unstable abilities—could learn to understand and control their powers. The institution serves not only as a school, but as a structured environment in which students can develop discipline, judgment, and a sense of responsibility.
Under Li’s guidance, the Academy has produced a number of notable heroes, including members of the Avant Guard, the student team that operates under his supervision.

He is also believed to have some form of connection to Dr. Eric Faust. The nature of that connection has never been fully explained, though it is regarded as significant by those aware of it.
