== The Karnak ==

The Karnak are an advanced humanoid race whose imperial culture combines aristocratic discipline, scientific ambition, and a deep belief in biological destiny. Their civilization arose near the galactic center and expanded outward over millennia, absorbing, uplifting, protecting, or conquering thousands of worlds.

Karnak society is hierarchical, ceremonial, and deeply confident in its right to rule. The Empire presents itself as a force of order in a dangerous galaxy, but its idea of order often includes genetic manipulation, client species, engineered soldiers, and carefully managed subject populations.
