== Origins ==

The NUCs were established during the escalating geopolitical tensions of the Cold War and rapidly evolved into a specialized force designed for covert maritime operations in hostile and unconventional environments.

While originally focused on underwater sabotage, reconnaissance, and amphibious assault, the unit expanded dramatically during the Silver and Bronze Ages as superhuman threats, advanced technologies, and international terrorism transformed modern warfare.

By the Modern Age, the NUCs had become one of the United States military’s premier rapid-response special operations units, frequently deployed against threats involving metahumans, rogue technologies, covert invasions, and catastrophic security breaches.
