The '''Naval Undersea Commandos''', commonly abbreviated '''NUCs''' and popularly known as the '''Nukes''', are an elite United States Navy special operations force specializing in maritime warfare, underwater infiltration, covert assault, and high-risk global operations.

Widely regarded as one of the most dangerous and capable military units in the world, the NUCs operate in environments where ordinary special forces cannot survive: beneath the ocean, inside hostile ports, aboard moving vessels, within flooded structures, and in contested coastal zones across the globe.

Their existence remains officially acknowledged.

The full extent of their operations does not.

== Origins ==
