Real Name: Lisa Sakura

Background: Lisa Sakura, known to the world as Raven, is one of the most skilled and enigmatic operatives to emerge from the shadowy world of espionage and martial arts. Born in Kyoto to a family with centuries-old ties to the Secret Swords, a covert ninja clan that operated beyond the reach of law or honor, Lisa was taken from her family as a child and raised in a hidden mountain fortress. There, she was trained to be a silent blade—swift, loyal, and merciless.

But Lisa possessed something the clan did not train for: a conscience.

In her late teens, after her first sanctioned assassination of a political dissident, she fled the fortress under the cover of night, wounded but alive. She survived alone in the Japanese underground before being quietly recruited into a secret counter-clan task force under the Japanese government's Cabinet Special Bureau. It was during this time that she took the codename Raven—a symbol of both death and wisdom in Japanese folklore.

Raven’s skills in infiltration, silent combat, and psychological manipulation made her indispensable during high-risk counterintelligence missions. Her reputation spread beyond Japan, and PHASE II began using her for deep-cover operations where even the elite Phoenix Division hesitated to tread. She later joined the international superteam The Sentries, where her quiet pragmatism and moral clarity often served as the team’s moral compass during ethically gray assignments.

After leaving the Sentries during the early Bronze Age, Raven became the partner and lover of Avenger, one of Earth’s most prominent street-level heroes. Together, they fought against the Secret Swords’ criminal resurgence, dismantling sects of the clan across Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim. Their partnership was legendary: tactical precision fused with raw passion. Though their romantic relationship eventually ended, they remain close allies.

Raven is currently an elite agent of the Japanese government, authorized to operate internationally on sensitive black ops missions. Her connection to PHASE II remains unofficial but deep: she is often consulted in matters involving rogue operatives, ninja clans, and arcane assassination cults.

Her allies in PHASE II and the broader hero community know they can count on her when the stakes are highest and the night is darkest.
