Real Name: Chance Van Warren

Background: A descendant of the first Captain Fortune, famed hero of the Golden Age, young heir Chance Van Warren lived the dissolute life of a playboy. His late grandfather appeared to him in one vision and insisted he must fight the same struggle against evil that Captain Fortune himself had fought decades earlier. Chance was profoundly moved by the vision. A trained engineer, he found teachers to show him martial arts and detection techniques, and Chance created several gadgets useful in a war against crime. He donned an updated costume, but took the same name as his grandfather had. He has been battling evil and injustice ever since.

Powers: Captain Fortune has an incredible luck, which has been speculated to be a psychic power.

Skills: The Captain is a skilled combatant, an infiltration expert, an acrobat, and an expert with gadgets.
