Crucible:Doctor Renfield Watts
Real Name: Renfield Watts, PhD.
Background: Raised in a secluded World Health Organization scientific retreat in Equatorial Bugunda, Renfield Watts was subjected to experimental evolutionary and education techniques. He became learned in several fields while also exhibiting the great strength and resilience of his forebearers. HAVOC had heard of this remote community and seized the opportunity to attack the compound, killing or capturing scientists and engineers, pillaging their files and libraries for anything to be exploited. Ren's caretakers had him strip his clothes and run into the jungle to hide from the raiders.
Heroes from the Unity League responded to distress calls, unfortunately coming too late other than to deal with the aftermath. On their arrival Ren came back out of the jungle to communicate he was apparently the sole survivor. The heroes brought him to Unity City where he was established as
a sentient being with his own rights. Given a UN passport, he enrolled at Pinnacle University, completing several doctorates. Also wanting to give back, he volunteered to join the League to lend his mental and physical attributes.
Powers: Watts possesses a superhuman strength and agility, magnified by the evolutionary techniques that were performed on him.
Skills: Highly intelligent, Watts is a trained scientist with doctorates in several fields. He is also a capable combatant with training in the martial arts.
