Real Name: Joe Don Butcher
Background: The origin of the Jersey Devil is unclear and he may not himself remember it. He has claimed to be a former cabdriver, injured in a robbery and forced to replace most of his skull with a steel plate. The Devil first appeared in New Jersey fighting the criminal gangs of Newark. That was way too difficult, so he moved to Hoboken and tried again. Same deal. So he settled for Hackensack. Yeah, no dice. Hospital bills piling up, he finally hit paydirt fighting the criminal gangs of Trenton, but only for one night, as he has a bum ticker and bad knees. He has been a fixture on the tri-state metahuman scene for some time because he simply will not go away. This may be his true superpower.
He has applied for Watchstar membership 23 times. After a while they stopped answering his calls.
Jersey Devil joined with Shagg to create what they hoped would become the premier super-team in the Tri-State area.
Group Affiliation: The Good Guys
Powers: The Jersey Devil appears to have no actual powers, other than the ability to absorb enormous amounts of damage and keep fighting.
Skills: The Jersey Devil has trained himself to drink limitless quantities of beer.
