Beyond:Careers
Careers
[edit]What you have done shapes what you can do.
Careers in Beyond represent a character’s background, experience, and way of life. They replace detailed skill lists.
A Career is not a narrow job description. It reflects a life lived, a service performed, or a role held over time.
When a Career applies to a situation, add its rank to the roll.
Using Careers
[edit]Careers apply broadly. If a character’s background reasonably helps, it applies.
Careers may also grant a Bonus Die when especially relevant.
Important Note
[edit]Careers do more than add to rolls. They shape how a character approaches situations.
Two characters with similar abilities may act very differently based on their Careers. A Soldier and a Mercenary may both be skilled fighters, but they bring different expectations, loyalties, and instincts into play.
