The Blackhearts are a female-only supervillain team founded by Arctique during a brief stay in Black Iron Correctional Facility. What began as a prison alliance quickly became one of the most dangerous and enduring villain teams of the Modern Age.
Arctique originally assembled the team as a mutual defense pact among powerful inmates, but the Blackhearts soon evolved into a sophisticated criminal organization. Backed by Arctique’s immense personal fortune, the team has pursued schemes involving theft, sabotage, revenge, magical artifacts, corporate espionage, and global blackmail.
Over their long career, the Blackhearts have clashed with many superheroes and law-enforcement agencies. Their most infamous plot nearly caused the complete destruction of Earth when they attempted to tap the planet’s magma core as part of a catastrophic energy scheme. The disaster was narrowly prevented by the Corsairs.

V'dou V'dou is an alien bounty hunter from a distant world, stranded on Earth by accident and drawn into the Blackhearts’ criminal orbit.

[edit]The Blackhearts are feared as one of the most capable villain teams of the Modern Age. Their strength lies not only in raw power, but in the diversity of their abilities: science, sorcery, psionics, alien weaponry, covert operations, and brute force.
Although often underestimated by heroes who mistake them for a loose alliance of criminals, the Blackhearts have repeatedly demonstrated discipline, ambition, and strategic reach. Under Arctique’s leadership, they have mounted operations on a global scale and come disturbingly close to achieving world-ending success.
