The UNS Challenger is PHASE III’s first interstellar vessel, representing humanity’s cautious yet ambitious leap into the stars. Designed for exploration, defense, and diplomacy, the ship is both a testbed for advanced technology and a symbol of Earth’s potential role in the galaxy. The Challenger’s missions include deep-space reconnaissance, first-contact diplomacy, and protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats.
Commanded by former superhero Blake Austin, also known as Steel Claw, the Challenger bridges the gap between Earth’s heroes and its expanding interstellar presence.

A former astronaut and member of the celebrated superhero team Watchstar, Blake Austin was a renowned hero before suffering grievous injuries in the Centurion Clash, a battle that cost him his left arm and nearly his life. Rebuilt as the cybernetic Steel Claw, Blake served as a symbol of resilience and strength. After retiring from active superhero duty, he trained with PHASE III and eventually took command of the UNS Challenger, bringing his unique experience to the galaxy.
- Cybernetic Enhancements: Blake’s skeleton has largely been replaced by tritanium bones, His left arm is an advanced cybernetic prosthetic, equipped with modular tools, a plasma claw weapon, and reinforced alloy plating for combat scenarios.
- Personality: Blake is a pragmatic, disciplined leader who values teamwork and innovation. His experience with Director-General Jason Smith, a fellow Watchstar member, has earned him respect within PHASE III.
