Thunder Dragon is the heroic identity of Jack Storm, a master of the ancient Druk martial arts and one of the most powerful chi-wielding heroes of the modern era. A leader of the Unity League, Storm blends spiritual discipline with personal tragedy in his ongoing war against crime.

Background

Born Jack Forman, he was orphaned at a young age and endured a difficult childhood in the foster system. His life changed when he was adopted by Ed and Lisa Storm, who gave him a stable home and a loving family. Taking their name, Jack embraced his new life, finding joy in performance and attention, eventually pursuing acting as a career.

While attending acting school, Jack was diagnosed with a rare and incurable disease—fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), a condition that would slowly immobilize and ultimately kill him.

Refusing to burden his family, Jack sold his prized 1953 Corvette and traveled to Tibet in search of a rumored cure. After a grueling journey, he found the hidden Druk temple, where he was taken in by the monk Shamar Norbu.

There, Jack underwent years of intense training. Through mastery of chi, he was able not only to cure himself, but to transform his body into a living weapon. Shamar offered him the mantle of the Druk—the living Thunder Dragon—but Jack’s loyalty to his family drew him home.

His return was marked by tragedy. His adoptive father, Ed Storm, and family friend Giovanni “Pop Pop” Bianchi had been murdered by the Drago crime family after refusing to pay protection money.

Grief-stricken and filled with guilt, Jack dedicated his life to fighting crime.

Career

Adopting the identity of Thunder Dragon, Jack Storm became a powerful force in Unity City. His combination of mystical discipline and physical prowess quickly brought him to prominence.

He joined the Unity League and eventually rose to leadership, guiding the team through numerous crises and establishing himself as one of its central figures.

Though he continues his work as a hero, part of his training remains incomplete. Unknown to him, Shamar Norbu suppressed key memories of the Druk temple and Jack’s full potential, to be restored only if he returns to complete his path.

-Ed Storm, a disabled vet (lost his right leg to a landmine), was a product of the foster care system himself and his heart broke hearing Jack’s story.  What impressed him the most, after reading the case files, about Jack was how he remained upbeat even through abusive foster parents.  Ed and Lisa gave Jack something he desperately needed: structure and honest love.  They  adopted him when he was 14. Jack will always recall that as the happiest day of his life.  In fact he celebrates that date as his birthday.
