The Prowler is the covert identity of Shintaro Yamaguchi, a master ninja operative whose activities in the United States during World War II placed him at the center of espionage, sabotage, and shadow warfare. A figure of near-mythic stealth, Yamaguchi later played a key role in the formation of PHASE II before vanishing in the early 1960s.

Background

Shintaro Yamaguchi was born into an ancient ninja clan, trained from childhood in the arts of stealth, infiltration, and silent combat. During World War II, he was dispatched to the United States on a covert mission: to oppose the clandestine organization known as the Eight-Headed Shadow.

Adopting the cover identity of a gardener for the wealthy Van Warren family, Yamaguchi embedded himself within American society. By day, he lived unnoticed. By night, he became the Prowler, a shadowy figure moving through the criminal and espionage underworld.

Career

During the war, the Prowler conducted a series of covert operations against enemy agents and criminal conspiracies tied to the Eight-Headed Shadow. His methods were precise and nearly invisible, striking without warning and leaving little trace.

His activities frequently brought him into conflict with the Victory Squadron, who initially regarded him as a potential threat. Over time, however, it became clear that they shared a common enemy, and an uneasy alliance formed.

In the early 1960s, at the height of PHASE II’s rise, the Prowler disappeared. No confirmed sightings have been recorded since.
