Bluejay is the armored hero identity of Lizette Avalon, a Canadian engineer who became one of her country’s first modern superhuman defenders. As both the designer and pilot of her own powered armor, she helped lay the foundation for Canada’s premier super-team, Force Five.

Though now largely retired from active duty, Bluejay remains a respected figure in the Canadian hero community.

Origin

Lizette Avalon was a rising engineer working for the Canadian Dominion government, specializing in advanced weapons systems and powered armor technology.

Her life changed during a violent assault.

The Montreal laboratory where she worked was attacked by HAVOC operatives seeking to steal the plans for the experimental armor she had helped design. Faced with the imminent loss of her work—and her life—Avalon made a split-second decision.

She put the armor on.

Despite having no formal field training, Avalon piloted the suit into combat and successfully repelled the attackers. Her performance was decisive, improvisational, and highly effective.

It also made her indispensable.

Government Service

Following the incident, the Canadian government formally appointed Avalon as the official pilot of the armor, now designated Bluejay.

Taking to the skies, she quickly proved herself as both a capable combatant and a symbol of national technological strength. Her dual expertise—engineer and operator—gave her an edge few others could match.

She was not just using the armor.

Force Five

Bluejay became a charter member of Force Five, Canada’s official super-team.

Retirement And Family

At the height of her career, Lizette Avalon stepped back from full-time heroics to start a family with the hero Doctor Justice.
