Craniac is the monstrous psychic identity of Leopold Karadjic, once a timid mathematics professor whose desperate attempt to save his dying daughter ended in unimaginable tragedy and transformation. Twisted in both body and mind by radioactive experimentation, he became one of the most dangerous psionic threats of the modern age and a recurring nemesis of Watchstar.

Origin

Leopold Karadjic was a quiet and deeply intelligent mathematics professor from a Balkan nation, respected within academic circles but largely invisible outside them. His life revolved around scholarship, his wife, and his young daughter, who suffered from a fatal illness requiring treatments the family could not afford.

Desperate to raise money, Karadjic convinced himself that his mastery of mathematics and probability could make him successful as a professional gambler. Instead, he was drawn into increasingly dangerous debt with organized criminals who had little patience for failure.

When Karadjic could no longer pay what he owed, the mobsters chose cruelty over collection.

They murdered his wife and daughter in front of him.

Then, believing him already broken, they injected him with a volatile mixture of radioactive poisons and left him to die.

Transformation

The poisons did not kill Karadjic.

Instead, they triggered catastrophic mutations within his body and nervous system. His brain expanded dramatically in size and complexity, unlocking latent psionic potential on an enormous scale. At the same time, the transformation twisted and diminished his body, leaving him physically warped and grotesque.

The process subjected him to unimaginable pain, and whatever remained of Leopold Karadjic’s former gentleness did not survive it.

When he emerged from hiding, he was something else.

He was Craniac.

Revenge

Craniac’s first acts were directed against the mobsters responsible for his suffering. Using his growing psychic abilities, he hunted them down one by one, subjecting them to terrifying mental assaults before killing them.

But revenge did not satisfy him.

In Craniac’s view, the world itself had revealed its true nature: cruel, selfish, and mathematically indifferent to suffering. Humanity had failed every meaningful equation of morality.

And so humanity itself became the problem to solve.

Enemy Of Watchstar

As his powers expanded over time, Craniac emerged as one of the most formidable psychic adversaries faced by Watchstar. Unlike many villains, his danger lies not merely in physical destruction, but in the scale and versatility of his mental abilities.

Entire city blocks have reportedly experienced hallucinations during his attacks. Security systems have failed without explanation. Witnesses have described hearing his voice inside their thoughts long before he physically appeared.

His mind operates on a level that few can fully comprehend.
