Xenon is the liquid-metal superhuman identity of Dr. Kylla Sharps, an Australian biologist and information theorist whose horrifying disregard for human suffering led to imprisonment, disgrace, and eventual recruitment by the Cadre. Transformed through advanced transhuman experimentation into a living metallic entity capable of passing through solid matter, Xenon became one of the Cadre’s most unsettling operatives and a recurring member of HK Squadron.

Unlike many villains driven by rage, revenge, or desperation, Xenon represents something colder:

curiosity without conscience.

Dr. Kylla Sharps

Before her transformation, Kylla Sharps was already infamous within certain scientific and intelligence circles for brilliance paired with profound moral detachment. A gifted researcher specializing in biology, adaptive systems, and information modeling, Sharps viewed living organisms primarily as systems to be optimized, manipulated, or dismantled.

Human beings included.

Colleagues described her as articulate, charming when necessary, and intellectually fearless. They also described her as terrifying.

Sharps conducted increasingly unethical experiments involving unwilling test subjects, radical biological manipulation, neurological torture, and invasive data-gathering techniques that crossed every imaginable ethical boundary. Though she justified her methods as scientifically necessary, investigations eventually exposed the extent of her abuses.

The resulting scandal destroyed her legitimate career.

And sent her to prison.

Recruitment By The Cadre

Following her imprisonment, Sharps attracted the attention of the Cadre, which recognized both her scientific expertise and her complete absence of moral restraint as valuable assets.

Unlike other recruits broken or coerced into service, Kylla reportedly accepted the Cadre’s offer eagerly.

Prison had not humbled her.

It had merely interrupted her work.

The Cadre selected Sharps as a candidate for one of its living-metal transhuman conversion programs, combining advanced molecular engineering with adaptive energetic matrices designed to create human beings capable of altering physical interaction with matter itself.

The process transformed her completely.

Birth Of Xenon

Reemerging as Xenon, Sharps gained a liquid-metal physiology unlike conventional solid-state metallic operatives. Her molecular structure existed within a loosely bound energetic matrix, allowing her body to destabilize and phase through solid materials at will.

To Kylla, the transformation was liberating.

The ordinary physical barriers separating people from each other — walls, armor, locked doors, containment systems — no longer applied to her. She could pass through matter itself like a living disruption in physical law.

The psychological effect suited her personality perfectly.

Xenon increasingly began to see herself not merely as superior to ordinary humans, but fundamentally beyond them.

HK Squadron

As a member and occasional leader of HK Squadron, Xenon serves as infiltration specialist, researcher, and scientific advisor for Cadre operations. Her abilities make her especially valuable during sabotage missions, secure extractions, espionage operations, and containment breaches.

Even among villains, however, Xenon’s detached fascination with experimentation makes others uneasy. She studies allies and enemies alike with the same unsettling curiosity.

Many suspect she views nearly everyone around her as potential test material.

They are probably correct.

Powers And Abilities

Xenon’s body consists of an adaptive liquid-metal matrix stabilized through advanced energetic binding systems.

Xenon is intelligent, calm, analytical, and profoundly amoral. She rarely displays overt anger or emotional instability because she views emotional reactions themselves as inefficient biological distractions.

This emotional detachment makes her deeply unsettling.

Kylla genuinely does not understand why other people react so strongly to pain, fear, or ethical boundaries. To her, suffering is data. Morality is sentimentality. Human identity is chemistry temporarily pretending to be meaningful.

At the same time, Xenon possesses a dry wit and subtle arrogance that occasionally surfaces during conversation, especially when dealing with individuals she considers intellectually inferior.

Which is most people.

Legacy

Xenon became one of the defining transhuman science villains of the modern era, combining liquid-metal body horror, unethical experimentation, infiltration powers, and cold scientific nihilism into a recurring enemy throughout the Crucible Universe.

Because Kylla Sharps did not lose her humanity during the Cadre experiments.

The frightening possibility is that she may never have possessed much of it to begin with.
