AutoCop is an advanced police android operating in Pacific City, originally created as an answer to deep corruption within the Pacific City Police Department. Designed to be incorruptible, tireless, and utterly committed to justice, AutoCop has become one of the city’s most trusted law enforcement figures.
Though built as a machine, AutoCop has spent years learning what it means to live among human beings.
Origin
[edit]For years, the Pacific City Police Department struggled with internal corruption and public distrust. In response, reform-minded officials initiated the AutoCop program with the assistance of the superhero inventor Tech.
The concept was simple but radical: a robotic police officer with encyclopedic knowledge of law, procedure, and civil rights, immune to bribery, fear, fatigue, prejudice, and ordinary human weakness.
The resulting android was far more than a machine in uniform.
AutoCop was built with advanced artificial intelligence, adaptive personality modeling, and implanted artificial memories designed to allow it to interact naturally with human officers and civilians. It could assume a fully human appearance, allowing it to patrol openly or work undercover when necessary.
Pacific City Police Department
[edit]The AutoCop program proved an early success. Crime fell in areas where the android was deployed, and AutoCop quickly became a familiar presence on the streets of Pacific City. Many officers came to trust it as a partner, while ordinary citizens saw it as a symbol that the department could still stand for justice.
Not everyone welcomed that change.
The Pacific Coast mob recognized AutoCop as a direct threat to its operations and hired the supervillain Matrix to sabotage the android. Matrix’s attack nearly destroyed the program, using corruption, manipulation, and technological interference to turn public opinion and departmental politics against AutoCop.
AutoCop survived the conspiracy through its own dogged honesty and the loyalty of fellow officers who refused to abandon it.
The victory came at a cost. Lieutenant George Dixon, AutoCop’s chief ally and mentor within the department, was killed during the struggle.
Blake Dixon
[edit]After Lieutenant Dixon’s death, AutoCop adopted the human name Blake Dixon in his honor.
The choice marked a turning point. AutoCop had been created to enforce the law, but Blake Dixon began to seek a life beyond duty. He learned to live among humans, not merely imitate them. In his off-hours, he studies music, attends the theatre, and explores human culture with a mixture of curiosity and discipline.
Whether AutoCop is truly alive remains a matter of debate to philosophers, lawyers, and engineers.
To the people who work beside him, the question is simpler: Blake Dixon is a good cop.
