“Oh, you don’t like that reality? Hold on. I’ve got another.”
Beardo the Weirdo

Beardo the Weirdo is one of the most baffling and unsettling figures in the modern superhuman landscape. Possibly a supervillain, possibly a performance artist, and possibly something else entirely, Beardo defies conventional explanation. His appearances are sporadic, his motives unclear, and his powers disturbingly flexible.

Origin

[edit]

No verifiable account of Beardo’s origin exists.

The name “Mortimer Disco” has been associated with him, but its authenticity is doubtful. Some claim he was once a fringe performance artist from over in Ho-Ho-Kus who took his work too far. Others insist he is a constructed myth, a figure invented to justify inexplicable events. Still others suggest he is not human at all.

What is certain is that Beardo appeared one day on the streets of New Jersey—fully formed, fully bizarre, and immediately disruptive. From that point forward, reports of his activities began to accumulate, each more surreal than the last.

Encounters With The Good Guys

[edit]

Beardo has clashed repeatedly with the Good Guys, a New Jersey-based superhero team. These encounters rarely follow conventional patterns of conflict.

Rather than direct combat, Beardo’s appearances tend to involve warped environments, altered perceptions, and sudden shifts in reality that leave even experienced heroes disoriented. Victories against him are often ambiguous, as he simply ceases to be present rather than being defeated in any traditional sense.

Powers

[edit]

Beardo appears to possess low-level reality-altering abilities, though the full extent of these powers is unknown.

  • Reality Distortion – Can alter aspects of the environment in localized ways
  • Perceptual Manipulation – Causes confusion, disorientation, or altered perception
  • Psionic Effects – Displays minor telepathic or telekinetic phenomena
  • Unpredictable Manifestation – Effects vary widely and do not follow consistent rules

His abilities are not on a global scale, but within their range they are highly disruptive and difficult to counter.

Skills

[edit]

Beardo’s capabilities extend beyond his apparent powers.

  • Claims fluency in all extinct languages
  • Exhibits improvisational behavior and lateral thinking
  • Demonstrates an intuitive grasp of how to unsettle and destabilize opponents

Whether these are genuine skills or extensions of his powers is unclear.

Technology

[edit]

There is no evidence that Beardo relies on conventional technology.

Any objects or effects associated with him may be products of his reality-altering abilities rather than physical tools.

Personality

[edit]

Beardo is erratic, theatrical, and deliberately disorienting. He appears to enjoy confusion, contradiction, and the breakdown of expectations. His speech often mixes humor, nonsense, and unsettling insight, making it difficult to determine when he is joking and when he is serious.

He does not behave like a typical villain. There is no clear agenda, no consistent objective, and no obvious endgame.

This lack of structure is what makes him particularly dangerous.

Legacy

[edit]

Beardo the Weirdo occupies a unique place among modern villains: a figure who cannot be easily categorized, understood, or contained. His appearances challenge not only physical reality, but the assumptions that heroes rely on to navigate it.

Whether he is a man, a myth, or something stranger, one fact remains:

When Beardo shows up, the rules stop applying.
