“They laughed at the math. They won’t laugh at the results!”
— Blue Streak
Blue Streak is the armored identity of Wilbur Parkes, a brilliant but socially inept aerospace engineer who turned his technological genius toward proving his superiority. Using a self-designed hypersonic flight suit, he has become one of Protector’s most persistent and dangerous adversaries.
Origin
[edit]Wilbur Parkes was an aerospace engineer whose ideas were often dismissed by his peers as impractical or unrealistic. Ridiculed for his theories and isolated by his lack of social awareness, Parkes grew increasingly resentful of those around him.
Convinced that his work was revolutionary, he set out to prove it—not through publication or recognition, but through demonstration.
Working in secret, Parkes constructed an advanced flight suit based on his own designs, integrating cutting-edge propulsion, shielding, and neural control systems. The result was a machine capable of extreme speed and durability far beyond conventional aircraft.
He named it Blue Streak.
Conflict With Protector
[edit]Parkes’ first major test of his suit brought him into direct conflict with Protector. Their initial battle, fought across the skies of the Nevada desert, pushed both combatants to their limits and nearly ended in Blue Streak’s victory.
The encounter established a rivalry that would continue over time, with Blue Streak returning repeatedly to challenge Protector in increasingly destructive confrontations.
For Parkes, these battles are not merely fights.
They are proofs.
Imprisonment And Return
[edit]Blue Streak’s activities eventually led to his capture and imprisonment. During his time in custody, his technology was studied, but Parkes himself remained unrepentant, viewing his incarceration as further evidence of others’ inability to understand his work.
Following his release, he returned to his life of villainy, resuming his efforts to demonstrate the superiority of his designs—and himself.
Skills
[edit]Wilbur Parkes is a highly capable engineer and inventor.
- Expert in aerospace engineering and propulsion systems
- Skilled designer of advanced mechanical and electronic systems
- Capable of integrating complex technologies into functional prototypes
- Limited social awareness and interpersonal ability
His intelligence is both his greatest strength and his greatest weakness.
Technology
[edit]The Blue Streak suit is an advanced flight system.
- Hypersonic Flight – Sustained extreme-speed aerial movement
- Neural Interface – Controlled through encephalographic patterns
- Force Fields – Protect the wearer from impact and environmental stress
- Kinetic Durability – Allows the user to smash through obstacles at speed
The suit effectively transforms Parkes into a living projectile.
Personality
[edit]Wilbur Parkes is arrogant, obsessive, and deeply insecure beneath his confidence. He measures his worth through validation of his work, and when that validation is denied, he seeks to force it.
He does not see himself as a criminal, but as a visionary unrecognized by lesser minds. His confrontations with Protector are framed, in his mind, as necessary demonstrations of superiority.
He does not want approval.
He wants acknowledgment.
Legacy
[edit]Blue Streak represents the dangerous intersection of genius and resentment. His technology is undeniably advanced, but his need to prove himself drives him into repeated conflict.
Each return is another attempt to settle the question he believes defines him:
Was he right all along?
And if so—who will be left to admit it?
