Cassandra Colt was a field agent of Department X and one of the most capable combat investigators of the Golden Age.
A graduate of the FBI academy with top honors in marksmanship and combat, Cassandra was recruited into Department X because she combined physical courage with a cool investigative mind. She was also connected to one of the stranger branches of American paranormal history: her uncle, Logan Colt, was a powerful and dangerous psychic and mind controller.
Cassandra Colt was part of the same family line that later produced modern detective Darlene Colt.
Personality
[edit]Cassandra was direct, sharp-eyed, and unromantic about danger. She did not share the theatrical habits of many Golden Age adventurers. She believed in evidence, weapons discipline, and getting civilians out alive.
Her family history gave her a personal understanding of psychic corruption. She knew that monsters did not always look monstrous, and that the most dangerous threats could wear a familiar face.
Abilities
[edit]Cassandra had no confirmed superhuman powers. She was an exceptional marksman, hand-to-hand combatant, and field agent. She was trained in surveillance, pursuit, defensive driving, interrogation, and close-quarters combat.
Her experience with Logan Colt also gave her unusual resistance to psychic manipulation, though this was never formally understood as a power.
Tactics
[edit]Cassandra was Department X’s most reliable combat operative. She protected scholars and consultants in the field, covered retreats, and often served as the team’s first line of defense when investigations turned violent.
She preferred clean action: identify the threat, secure the scene, and neutralize the immediate danger before the occultists could complete whatever madness they had begun.
Legacy
[edit]Cassandra Colt’s career became one of the buried legends of the Colt family. Later investigators, including Darlene Colt, inherited not only the family name but a tradition of facing horror with nerve, intelligence, and a pistol held steady.
