Doctor Zenith is the foremost scientific mastermind of the parallel reality known as Imperium Aeternis, a bizarre alternate Earth where the British Empire conquered the world—and eventually the stars—through impossible steam-driven technologies under the eternal rule of a cybernetic Queen Victoria. A dimensional explorer, inventor, and imperial loyalist, Zenith sought to expand his empire’s dominion across the multiverse itself.
His schemes eventually brought him into direct conflict with Booster and the heroes of Earth-11717.
Imperium Aeternis
[edit]In the alternate reality known as Imperium Aeternis, history diverged dramatically during the Victorian era. Through scientific breakthroughs unknown to conventional history, the British Empire mastered advanced steam power, clockwork computation, electro-etheric engineering, and cybernetic augmentation centuries ahead of schedule.
At the center of this empire sat the so-called Forever Queen: an immortal cybernetic Queen Victoria preserved through increasingly elaborate technological reconstruction. Under her endless reign, the Empire expanded beyond Earth to dominate the Moon, Mars, and neighboring worlds.
Imperium Aeternis became a civilization of brass, iron, steam, and rigid imperial order.
And among its greatest scientific minds was Horatio Zenith.
The Probability Device
[edit]Zenith was fascinated by the existence of alternate realities and believed the multiverse represented the next logical frontier for imperial conquest. To that end, he constructed a “probability device,” an experimental machine capable of probing neighboring dimensions and locating alternate timelines.
Unlike many dimensional travelers, Zenith viewed other universes not as curiosities, but as colonial opportunities.
Using his invention, he abducted individuals and artifacts from Earth-11717 and other realities for study, exploitation, or imprisonment. Among those captured was Booster, whose arrival in Imperium Aeternis would ultimately lead to catastrophe for Zenith and the Empire itself.
The Booster Rebellion
[edit]Booster’s accidental transport into Imperium Aeternis exposed him to the brutal realities hidden beneath the Empire’s polished Victorian grandeur. Though technologically magnificent, the regime maintained its authority through oppression, surveillance, and military domination.
Booster eventually became involved with underground resistance movements opposing the Forever Queen and her scientific elite. Using his knowledge of alternate technologies and the Empire’s own internal weaknesses, Booster helped ignite a rebellion that spread across the Imperial system.
Doctor Zenith became one of the rebellion’s principal enemies.
Following a series of confrontations, the Forever Queen’s regime was overthrown and Zenith himself was apparently defeated during the collapse of key imperial facilities.
His ultimate fate remains unknown.

Personality
[edit]Doctor Zenith is refined, intelligent, deeply arrogant, and utterly committed to the logic of empire. He regards alternate worlds as resources waiting to be civilized and considers resistance to imperial order irrational and primitive.
Unlike openly sadistic tyrants, Zenith genuinely believes conquest and hierarchy create stability and progress. His calm politeness and scientific curiosity make his authoritarian worldview all the more unsettling.
To Zenith, freedom is simply inefficiency by another name.
Legacy
[edit]Doctor Zenith became one of the most memorable dimensional adversaries associated with Booster, embodying the strange blend of alternate history, steampunk spectacle, and cosmic adventure that characterized many of Booster’s greatest stories.
He also raised troubling questions about the multiverse itself.
