Jäger is the mantle taken by Erik Storm, a modern heir to an ancient European bloodline of aristocratic monster-slayers. Once dismissive of his family’s grim legacy, Storm was forced into it by tragedy, becoming one of the most relentless hunters of supernatural evil in the world.
Origin
[edit]Erik Storm was born into a powerful and ancient Central European family whose lineage was defined not by politics or wealth, but by a singular purpose: the destruction of occult threats. For generations, his ancestors had hunted vampires, demons, and other creatures of the night, maintaining a quiet war against forces most of the world refused to acknowledge.
Erik wanted no part of it.
Educated, skeptical, and indulgent, he rejected his family’s traditions in favor of a life of pleasure, spending his considerable inheritance on travel, luxury, and distraction. To him, the stories of monsters were relics—superstition dressed up as history.
The darkness did not agree.
Turning Point
[edit]The illusion shattered when Erik’s fiancée was killed by a pack of nosferat. The attack was brutal, undeniable, and personal. Whatever doubts Erik had maintained were erased in a single night.
The world he had dismissed proved real.
And it had taken everything from him.
Becoming Jäger
[edit]Erik embraced the legacy he had once rejected. Taking the name Jäger—hunter—he committed himself fully to the eradication of occult evil. Where his ancestors had acted out of duty, Erik acted with something sharper: purpose hardened by loss.
He trained relentlessly, mastering both traditional combat and the specialized knowledge required to confront supernatural threats. He also reclaimed his family’s resources, including weapons, archives, and contacts built over centuries.
Career
[edit]Operating primarily out of Europe, Jäger travels wherever his hunt leads him. His targets include vampires, demonic entities, cults, and other manifestations of the occult. His work often brings him into contact with global organizations, and he is affiliated with Nexus, contributing his expertise to their broader operations.
He does not stay in one place long.
The hunt doesn’t allow it.
