Background

[edit]

The boy known as Kid Overcoat is a younger clone of the infamous telepath Overcoat, created during one of the many deranged genetic experiments conducted by Clone Master.

Why Clone Master felt the world required a pre-teen version of Overcoat remains unclear.

Despite his age and the fact that he possesses two fully functional arms, Kid Overcoat is otherwise disturbingly identical to the original. He inherited not only Overcoat’s psionic abilities, but also his personality flaws, cynicism, addictions, terrible habits, and deeply unhealthy worldview.

The result is essentially a bitter middle-aged burnout trapped in the body of an angry child.

For a time, Kodiak attempted to take responsibility for the young clone, believing the boy deserved a better chance than the original Overcoat ever received. Unfortunately, Kid Overcoat proved nearly impossible to parent, combining juvenile rebellion with the emotional baggage and bad attitude of an embittered adult telepath.

As Kodiak eventually summarized:

"A guy can only put up with so much guff."

Powers And Abilities

[edit]

Kid Overcoat possesses potent telepathic and psionic abilities comparable to those of the adult Overcoat. His exact power limits remain unclear, though his emotional instability often interferes with disciplined use of his abilities.

In addition to his psychic powers, Kid Overcoat also appears to have inherited the original’s astonishingly self-destructive tendencies and chronic dysfunction.

Skills And Personality

[edit]

Kid Overcoat combines the intellect, vocabulary, and psychological damage of the adult Overcoat with the impulsiveness and emotional volatility of adolescence.

He is sarcastic, foul-mouthed, defensive, self-loathing, and perpetually angry at the universe.

Thanks to possessing a completely healthy cloned liver, Kid Overcoat also demonstrates an alarming tolerance for cheap alcohol despite his age.

His most famous response to authority figures remains:

"You're not the boss of me... you asshole!"

Notes

[edit]

Kid Overcoat became a recurring cult-favorite character due to the sheer absurdity of the concept: a tiny, furious clone of one of the Crucible Universe’s most dysfunctional telepaths attempting to navigate childhood while already psychologically ruined.
