Ricochet is the mercenary identity of Viva Blanca, a professional assassin whose discovery of advanced alien weaponry transformed her from a highly skilled contract killer into one of the most dangerous armed supervillains of the modern era. Wielding a pair of mysterious Karnaki pistols she calls the Roomsweepers, Ricochet became infamous for high-risk assassinations, urban warfare operations, and brutal confrontations with superheroes such as Cobra.
Fast, stylish, and ruthlessly pragmatic, Ricochet treats combat like choreography.
And the Roomsweepers make sure everyone else dances to her rhythm.
Early Life
[edit]Very little reliable information exists regarding Viva Blanca’s origins. Most intelligence reports agree she possesses military training and extensive experience in covert operations, assassination, and urban combat.
By the time she first appeared publicly as Ricochet, Blanca was already an established assassin-for-hire operating across international criminal networks.
Unlike unstable killers driven by ideology or bloodlust, Viva approached violence professionally.
Efficient work.
Good pay.
Minimal emotional investment.
At least initially.
Discovery Of The Roomsweepers
[edit]Everything changed during an operation in Night City involving a hidden cache of off-world technology.
While carrying out an assassination contract, Viva stumbled upon a pair of advanced alien weapons concealed within a criminal storage facility. The technology proved far beyond anything available on Earth and was eventually identified as originating from the Karnak Imperium.
Rather than selling the weapons, Blanca kept them.
A decision many people later regretted.
She nicknamed the weapons Roomsweepers.
The name turned out to be accurate.
Rise Of Ricochet
[edit]With the alien pistols in her possession, Viva’s effectiveness increased dramatically. Contracts that once would have required entire teams could now be completed single-handedly.
She rapidly evolved from elite assassin into full-fledged mercenary supervillain.
Ricochet’s reputation spread through:
- assassination contracts
- mercenary operations
- armored thefts
- gang warfare
- confrontations with superheroes
Unlike many technologically dependent villains, however, Ricochet combined the Roomsweepers with genuine combat expertise and tactical intelligence.
This made her far more dangerous than someone merely carrying advanced guns.
The Roomsweepers
[edit]Ricochet’s signature weapons are twin Karnaki pistols of unknown design and extraordinary versatility.
The weapons can generate and fire multiple projectile types and energy effects, including:

Though often perceived as cold or detached, Viva possesses a dark sense of humor and obvious enjoyment of high-risk confrontations. She takes pride in professionalism and despises sloppy operators, reckless amateurs, and people who mistake brutality for competence.
At the same time, the power granted by the Roomsweepers clearly changed her worldview. The weapons allowed her to stand alongside — and sometimes against — beings vastly more powerful than ordinary humans.
And she discovered she liked being feared.
Legacy
[edit]Ricochet became one of the recurring mercenary villains of the modern era and a dangerous adversary of heroes such as Cobra and Knight/Watch. Her stories blended alien technology, assassin fiction, cyberpunk noir, and high-action gunplay into one of the more stylish criminal archetypes in the Crucible Universe.
Because Viva Blanca found weapons built for wars beyond Earth.
And decided to use them for contract work.
