Snapdragon is the alias of Bernice “Bernie” Pratt, a former circus aerialist transformed into a superhuman acrobatic mercenary after a catastrophic performance accident left her broken and abandoned by the people who once profited from her talent. Rebuilt through experimental augmentation by a mysterious organization, Pratt emerged faster, deadlier, and far less forgiving than before.
Armed with extraordinary agility and a versatile high-tech whip weapon capable of shifting configuration mid-combat, Snapdragon became one of the most elusive and dangerous mobility-based villains of the modern era.
She moves like a performance.
And fights like an execution.
Circus Career
[edit]Bernice Pratt spent most of her early life in the traveling circus world, where she quickly earned a reputation as a fearless aerial performer and high-wire acrobat. Agile, disciplined, and astonishingly quick even before her transformation, Pratt thrived in dangerous performances that left audiences breathless and management highly profitable.
Life under the tent taught her several lessons early:
never hesitate,
never freeze,
and never trust the safety net completely.
Despite her success, Bernie’s life outside performance remained unstable. Circus culture was demanding, transient, and often exploitative, and Pratt learned that performers were valued only as long as they could still fly.
Eventually, one bad fall proved the point.
The Accident
[edit]During a high-wire performance, a catastrophic equipment failure sent Bernie plummeting before a live audience. Though she survived, the injuries shattered much of her body and effectively ended her acrobatic career.
The circus moved on quickly.
Many of the people she believed cared about her did not.
While recovering, Pratt was approached by representatives of a shadowy organization involved in experimental human-enhancement technology. They offered her what conventional medicine could not: restoration, augmentation, and the ability to reclaim the life stolen from her.
Bernie accepted.
Later, she would wonder whether she truly had a choice.
Becoming Snapdragon
[edit]The enhancement process rebuilt Pratt physically while radically improving her speed, balance, reflexes, and neuromuscular coordination. Combined with extensive combat conditioning and advanced weaponry, she became something far beyond a conventional athlete.
Adopting the name Snapdragon, Bernie redirected her anger toward the world she believed had discarded her the moment she ceased being profitable.
Unlike some revenge-driven villains, however, Snapdragon never limited herself to personal vendettas. She discovered she enjoyed the freedom, danger, and adrenaline of her new life too much to stop at simple revenge.
Chaos became exhilarating.
Powers

She enjoys motion.
She enjoys risk.
And she despises feeling trapped or powerless.
Though outwardly reckless, Bernie possesses sharp survival instincts and considerable emotional intelligence. She reads people quickly and rarely allows herself to become emotionally dependent on anyone again.
At heart, much of her anger stems from abandonment. Snapdragon never forgot how quickly applause disappeared once she could no longer perform.
Now she performs on her own terms.
And the audience tends to scream more.
