“Point me at the target and save the speech.”
Striker

Striker is the field identity of Danny Blaze, a former elite commando whose career has moved through vengeance, vigilantism, imprisonment, and covert government service. Once an enemy of Kodiak, he now operates as a member of Squad 13, a PHASE II special unit built around dangerous operatives with few other options.

Background

[edit]

Danny Blaze was the younger brother of Bobo the Clown, a connection that shaped the course of his life after Bobo’s death at the hands of Kodiak. Already a highly trained army commando, Blaze responded to the loss with discipline, anger, and a soldier’s sense of mission. He took the name Striker and set out to kill Kodiak.

The attempt failed.

Kodiak survived, and Blaze’s personal war did not bring him the clarity he expected. What remained was a skilled and violent man with no easy path back to ordinary life.

The Strong Persuaders

[edit]

Striker later came to the attention of Peacemaker, who recruited him into the Strong Persuaders, a team of hardline vigilantes willing to use methods other heroes avoided. Blaze fit naturally into that world, bringing military precision and a willingness to escalate when ordered.

His time with the team deepened his reputation as an effective but dangerous operative, one whose usefulness was matched by the severity of his record.

Squad 13

[edit]

Facing a long prison sentence for multiple murders, Blaze was offered an alternative by PHASE II: service with Squad 13, a special team designed for missions too compromised, deniable, or hazardous for conventional deployment.

Striker accepted.

Within Squad 13, he operates under tighter control than in his vigilante years, but his essential role remains the same. He is deployed when the mission calls for someone who can move quickly, strike hard, and live with the consequences.

Skills

[edit]

Striker’s abilities come from elite military training and extensive field experience.

  • Advanced commando training
  • Expert small-unit tactics
  • Skilled hand-to-hand combatant
  • Proficient with ranged weapons and infiltration methods

He is at his best when objectives are clear and hesitation is not useful.

Technology

[edit]

Striker’s signature weapon is an advanced crossbow adapted for modern combat conditions. It fires a variety of specialized ammunition types, allowing him to adjust quickly between lethal, disabling, explosive, and utility functions depending on mission parameters.

Personality

[edit]

Danny Blaze is blunt, disciplined, and difficult to reach. He has little patience for moral speeches, especially from people who have never had to make the kinds of choices he has made. His service with Squad 13 has not softened him, but it has given his violence structure and direction.

Whether that counts as redemption depends on who is asked.

Reputation

[edit]

Among heroes, Striker remains controversial, remembered for his attempt on Kodiak’s life and his years with the Strong Persuaders. Within PHASE II, he is regarded as a dangerous but useful asset, best deployed with clear objectives and firm oversight.

Among enemies, he is known for directness. If Striker has been sent, subtlety has usually already failed.

Legacy

[edit]

Striker represents one of the harsher edges of modern heroism: the operative who cannot be comfortably forgiven, but cannot be easily discarded either. His current role does not erase his past, though it may give him a way to aim what he became at something worth stopping.
