Lollipop is the villainous identity of Lucy Devereaux, a manipulative teenage psionic capable of exerting limited mind control over other adolescents. Beneath her sweet voice, fashionable appearance, and seemingly carefree attitude lies a dangerously self-centered young supervillain who treats people like toys to be played with and discarded.

At Nathaniel Nova High School, almost everyone eventually learns the same lesson:

if Lucy smiles at you, be careful.

Early Life

Lucy Devereaux grew up as the sort of teenager who naturally attracted attention. Charming, attractive, socially confident, and effortlessly manipulative even before her powers emerged, Lucy quickly became one of the most recognizable students at Nathaniel Nova High School.

Her life changed dramatically when her latent psionic abilities manifested during a heated argument with her parents. In the middle of the confrontation, Lucy instinctively compelled them to obey her commands completely.

The experience frightened her for approximately five minutes.

Then she realized how useful it could be.

Discovery Of Her Powers

Once Lucy understood the extent of her abilities, she began experimenting constantly. Teachers became easier to manipulate. Friends became easier to control. Rivalries, punishments, homework, and social conflicts could all be bent in her favor with a few carefully chosen words and the right tone of voice.

Unlike many young superhumans who struggled with guilt or fear after developing powers, Lucy adapted to her abilities almost immediately. To her, mind control simply felt like a more efficient version of the social manipulation she already enjoyed.

This attitude gradually pushed her further toward outright villainy.

The Answer

Eventually Lucy came to the attention of Casey Loomis, who recognized both the danger of her powers and the fact that she lacked almost any meaningful restraint. Casey helped Lucy understand the mechanics and limitations of her abilities more clearly, though his attempts to encourage responsibility met with mixed success at best.

More importantly, Casey took practical measures to protect himself and his friends from her influence.

This proved wise.

Even among people she genuinely liked, Lucy could rarely resist testing how far her control extended.

Rock n' Roll

When Computron organized the student supervillain group Rock n' Roll, he recruited Lollipop as one of its members, recognizing how dangerous her powers could be in a school environment.

Almost immediately, however, he discovered the downside.

Lucy was unreliable, impulsive, easily distracted, and constantly more interested in social drama than criminal planning. While undeniably effective under the right circumstances, she often caused as many problems for her teammates as she solved.

Computron reportedly described her as: > “Like carrying a hand grenade around that keeps asking if your shoes make your butt look weird.”

Powers

Lollipop possesses a limited but potent form of psionic mind control.

Her abilities include:

• Mental domination of nearby teenagers
• Verbal compulsion through speech
• Short-range psionic influence
• Ability to control one target at a time

Her powers do not function effectively on adults and appear strongest against individuals close to her own age.

Despite these limitations, her abilities can be extremely dangerous in social settings where targets may not realize they are being manipulated.

Skills

Lucy possesses few traditional combat or academic skills, though she would strongly object to hearing that.

Academically, Lucy is notoriously lazy and rarely completes her own work if someone else can be convinced to do it for her.

Personality

Lollipop is selfish, playful, dramatic, manipulative, and emotionally immature. Unlike hardened adult villains driven by ideology or trauma, Lucy often treats villainy like an extension of high-school social politics.

She enjoys attention almost as much as control.

At times she can seem harmlessly shallow or even genuinely funny. At others, her casual willingness to override other people’s free will becomes deeply disturbing. The contrast between her bubbly demeanor and the invasive nature of her powers makes her especially unsettling.

Still, there are hints that Lucy’s emotional development stalled once she realized she no longer had to deal honestly with people. Genuine relationships become difficult when manipulating others is always easier.

Even she may not fully understand where performance ends and sincerity begins anymore.

Legacy

Lollipop became one of the standout young villains associated with Hero High and the teenage superhuman world of the Crucible Universe. Her stories blended teen drama, comedy, and psychological danger in ways that made her both entertaining and unexpectedly threatening.

Because supervillains do not always arrive wearing armor or carrying death rays.

Sometimes they arrive smiling sweetly and asking if you’ll do them a tiny little favor.
