The Condor is the heroic identity of Armus Benton, a fearless aviator and one of the defining champions of the Silver Age. A founding member of the Unity League, Benton set the standard for costumed adventurers with his daring exploits, advanced equipment, and relentless war on crime.
Background
[edit]Armus Benton was a decorated World War II ace and one of the most skilled test pilots of his generation. Known for his courage and precision in the cockpit, Benton pushed the boundaries of experimental aviation in the years following the war.
His life changed forever when the experimental X-34 aircraft he was testing was sabotaged, causing it to crash near Unity City. Gravely injured but alive, Benton uncovered a conspiracy: a rival aircraft company had orchestrated the sabotage in an effort to discredit the X-34 program.
Determined to bring those responsible to justice, Benton turned to a revolutionary piece of technology—an experimental set of mechanical wings developed by a close friend. With them, he could achieve powered flight without an aircraft.
Donning the wings and a distinctive costume, Benton became The Condor.
He swiftly brought the saboteurs to justice and continued his crusade, becoming one of the most visible and celebrated heroes of his era.
Career
[edit]The Condor’s career defined the classic era of superheroics. Operating primarily in Unity City, he battled an extensive rogue’s gallery of criminals, masterminds, and costumed villains.
