Boomer and Buster are the reformed criminal duo of Jimmy Barnes and Lyle Talbot, two former thieves who turned their lives around to become effective, if unconventional, heroes.
Once responsible for a high-profile crime spree, they now serve as deputized operatives of CounterForce, proving that second chances can stick—if you’re tough enough to earn them.
Origin
[edit]Jimmy Barnes and Lyle Talbot started out on the wrong side of the law.
Ambitious, clever, and reckless, the pair broke into an Andrews International weapons facility, stealing an experimental powered armor suit along with a cache of advanced energy weapons.
What followed was a fast-moving, highly visible crime spree across the city—one that quickly drew the attention of the hero the Gauntlet.
Their run didn’t last long.
Second Chance
[edit]After bringing them to justice, the Gauntlet recognized something unusual in the pair—not just criminal ability, but intelligence, coordination, and determination.
Instead of seeing them locked away permanently, he offered them a choice:
Keep being criminals… or put those same skills to work for something better.
They chose the second option.
Under Gauntlet’s guidance, Barnes and Talbot were deputized and trained as operatives, eventually becoming part of CounterForce.
CounterForce
