Corona is the superhuman identity of Adrienne Gray, a powerful parahuman whose command of heat and light has made her one of the most prominent members of the Guardians. Born into one of the most complicated legacies in the modern era, she has spent her life defining herself apart from it.
Origin
[edit]Adrienne Gray is the daughter of the renegade parahuman Black Sun (Lucius Gray, formerly the hero Sunbolt) and the younger sister of Inferno, a founding member of the first Watchstar team and later a member of Star Flight.
Despite that lineage, Adrienne did not grow up immersed in heroics or villainy. She was raised by foster parents in Southern California, where she lived a relatively normal life and pursued her ambition of becoming a championship surfer.
Her powers manifested during her teenage years, marking her as a **parahuman (mutant)** and drawing her into a world she had only known at a distance.
Parahuman Awakening
[edit]Adrienne’s emergence as a parahuman placed her at the center of growing tensions surrounding powered individuals. During this time, she became involved in parahuman activism and, for a period, fought alongside her father.
