The Guardians of Los Angeles are the premier superhero team of the American West Coast and among the most visible heroic organizations of the Modern Age.

The team was established when billionaire technology magnate Adrian Knight created a privately funded foundation dedicated to supporting a permanent, highly trained superhero organization based in Los Angeles. Combining advanced resources, state-of-the-art equipment, and relentless media management, the Guardians quickly developed a reputation for professionalism, efficiency, and celebrity-level public visibility.

Critics have occasionally suggested that part of the team’s polished image is the result of Adrian Knight’s enormous public relations apparatus rather than genuine heroism. Even so, few deny the effectiveness of the Guardians in the field.

Operating from the technologically advanced headquarters known as Guardbase One, the team patrols the West Coast aboard their famous jet aircraft, the Raptor, a familiar sight in the skies over Los Angeles.

The Guardians have confronted threats ranging from organized supercrime and terrorism to alien invasions and supernatural disasters, becoming one of the defining superhero teams of the era.

The D'Harque Crisis

[edit]

The Guardians faced their darkest hour during the invasion of Earth by the D'Harque, a malevolent alien force associated with corruption and chaos.

During the conflict, each member of the team was psychically and spiritually corrupted, transforming them into twisted, evil reflections of themselves. Under D'Harque influence, the Guardians became a terrifying threat to the very people they once protected.

The crisis ended only when Sierra Force succeeded in defeating the D'Harque and helping restore the Guardians to their true selves.

The experience left lasting emotional scars on the team and nearly destroyed the organization entirely.

Rebirth

[edit]

Following their restoration, the Guardians rebuilt Guardbase One and resumed operations with renewed determination. The team emerged from the crisis more disciplined and unified than before, reaffirming their commitment to protecting Los Angeles and the West Coast.

Today, the Guardians remain one of the most recognized superhero organizations in America, blending celebrity, professionalism, and genuine heroism in equal measure.
