Rainbow is the current bearer of the Barrow legacy, the twelfth-generation descendant of the sorcerer Artemus Barrow and the latest inheritor of a bloodline bound by oath, guilt, and power. A formidable practitioner of black magic who has chosen to turn that power toward protection rather than domination, she serves as one of the most unpredictable and dangerous members of the Guardians.
Background
[edit]The origin of Rainbow’s power lies centuries in the past, when the wizard Artemus Barrow was discovered in the act of forging a pact with demonic forces. His ambitions were cut short by the Black Eagle of that era, who forced him into a reckoning that would echo through generations. Faced with judgment, Barrow swore an oath of atonement that would bind his bloodline for twelve generations, each descendant inheriting his power and using it in service of good rather than personal gain.
It was not a symbolic vow.
It was enforced.
Renee Barrow was born into the twelfth generation of that line, raised with the knowledge that her abilities were not simply gifts, but obligations. Unlike earlier descendants, who often struggled to understand or control what they had inherited, Renee came to her power early and with a clarity that surprised even those who had watched the Barrow line for decades.
