Cyberpath is the cybernetically enhanced terrorist identity of Robert Manning, a former corrupt police officer and mob enforcer whose body and mind were transformed through radical experimentation. Once known as the feline super-criminal Panther, Manning was rebuilt into something faster, deadlier, and far more unstable after nearly dying in battle.
Origin
[edit]Robert Manning began his career as a New York City police officer, though his loyalty lay less with the law than with organized crime. In secret, he worked for the mob boss Petro, serving as one of his most reliable inside men within the NYPD.
Petro eventually selected Manning for an experimental enhancement program involving partially feline DNA. The treatment dramatically increased Manning’s speed, reflexes, and physical capabilities, transforming him into a dangerous enforcer operating under the identity of Panther.
As Panther, Manning became one of Petro’s chief operatives, carrying out violent assignments against rivals and enemies of the organization.
Death And Reconstruction
[edit]Panther’s criminal career came close to ending during a brutal confrontation with Peacemaker, which left Manning catastrophically injured. His survival seemed impossible.
Instead of dying, he was taken by the shadowy organization known as Eclipse, which subjected him to extensive cybernetic reconstruction and chemical conditioning. Manning’s shattered body was rebuilt using advanced prosthetics, synthetic musculature, and neural enhancement systems.
The procedure saved his life.
It also destroyed what little emotional stability he still possessed.
The combination of neurological alteration and chemical treatment left Manning trapped in a near-constant state of aggression and paranoia. Emerging from the process as Cyberpath, he became far more violent and unpredictable than Panther had ever been.
Operative Of Eclipse
[edit]As an operative of Eclipse, Cyberpath serves as a living weapon—part assassin, part shock trooper, part psychological terror device. His enhanced body allows him to operate at extraordinary levels of speed and violence, while his instability makes him difficult even for his handlers to fully control.
Unlike Panther, who still retained traces of professional restraint, Cyberpath often appears driven more by rage than calculation.
That rage is precisely what Eclipse wanted.
Powers
[edit]Cyberpath retains and expands upon the abilities he possessed as Panther.

Personality
[edit]Cyberpath is violent, unstable, and perpetually angry. The man who once existed beneath the augmentations survives only in fragments, overwhelmed by neurological damage, chemical alteration, and years of escalating brutality.
At times he displays flashes of cunning or dark humor, reminders of the corrupt cop and mob enforcer he once was. More often, however, he operates on instinct, aggression, and resentment.
He hates weakness.
Most of all, he hates his own.
Legacy
[edit]Cyberpath represents the escalation of organized crime into something more technologically monstrous. What began as a corrupt policeman enhanced for mob enforcement became a cybernetic predator engineered for terror.
As Panther, Manning was dangerous.
As Cyberpath, he became something much harder to stop—and much harder to recognize as human.
