Lazarus X is an immortal mastermind who has operated behind the scenes of human history for centuries under countless identities. Once known in antiquity as the Byzantine, he has survived wars, empires, revolutions, and civilizations, emerging repeatedly under new names and personas while pursuing a single enduring ambition: absolute power over humanity.
In the modern era, he rules through vast corporate wealth, covert organizations, and hidden influence networks, serving as both the leader of Eclipse and the CEO of the global conglomerate XCorp. For centuries, his greatest enemy has been the immortal wanderer Saracen.

What is known is that the being now called Lazarus X has existed for centuries under many different names and appearances. In one age he was a court advisor. In another, a conqueror. Elsewhere, a scholar, banker, priest, merchant prince, or revolutionary.
He has lived through enough human history to treat entire civilizations as temporary phenomena.
Long before the modern world, he was known as the Byzantine, a shadowy immortal figure whose influence spread quietly through empires and dynasties. Over time he abandoned older identities repeatedly, reinventing himself whenever history threatened to expose him.
Unlike many immortals, Lazarus X does not hide from power.

Enemy Of Saracen
