“You made us different. Then you punished us for it.”
Magnus

Magnus is one of the founding members of the militant parahuman-rights organization Factor M and among the physically strongest parahumans on Earth. Towering, immensely durable, and fiercely loyal to his own kind, Magnus became one of the central symbols of the growing conflict between humanity and parahumans during the modern era.

Though often overshadowed publicly by the charisma and ideology of Claw, many within Factor M quietly regard Magnus as the movement’s true backbone.

Early Life

[edit]

Magnus Andersson was born a parahuman and displayed abnormal physical strength and durability from an early age. As a child, he quickly learned that being different did not make life easier.

It made people afraid.

Magnus was larger, stronger, and harder to hurt than anyone around him, even as a boy. Playground fights became dangerous. Teachers treated him cautiously. Other children alternated between provoking him and fearing him. Over time, isolation and resentment hardened into anger.

When Magnus eventually learned the truth about parahumans and genetic mutation, the revelation both terrified and exhilarated him.

For the first time, he understood that he was not alone.

More importantly, he understood that his differences made him superior.

Criminal Career

[edit]

As a teenager and young adult, Magnus drifted increasingly into violence and crime. His immense strength made him difficult to control and nearly impossible for ordinary authorities to stop. Robbery, assault, and organized criminal activity followed naturally.

Magnus viewed the laws of ordinary humans as rules imposed by weaker people trying to restrain those born greater than themselves.

That outlook might have left him merely another violent superhuman thug.

Then he met Claw.

Factor M

[edit]

Claw recognized both Magnus’s anger and his potential. More importantly, he gave Magnus something he had never truly possessed before:

a cause.

Under Claw’s influence, Magnus redirected his rage toward the defense and liberation of parahumans as a people. Together the two became the core leadership of Factor M, a militant organization dedicated to parahuman rights through increasingly violent and revolutionary means.

To supporters, Factor M represented resistance against persecution and oppression.

To governments and superheroes, it became one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world.

Magnus served as the movement’s muscle, enforcer, and symbol of physical power, while Claw provided ideological leadership and strategic vision.

The partnership proved extraordinarily effective.

The Hero Wars

[edit]

During the Hero Wars, Magnus appeared to perish after becoming infected by the mutagenic virus that devastated much of the world’s parahuman population. Reports indicated his body entered catastrophic biological collapse before he vanished entirely.

In reality, Magnus had entered a deep coma-like state rather than dying outright.

Scientists working for Eclipse eventually recovered and revived him through advanced experimental procedures. Upon awakening, Magnus returned almost immediately to Factor M, resuming his role within the organization with renewed bitterness toward humanity and the systems he believed had abandoned his people.

His survival became a rallying point for radicalized parahumans worldwide.

Powers

[edit]

Magnus possesses immense physical abilities even by parahuman standards.

His powers include:

  • Vast superhuman strength
  • Exceptional durability and resistance to injury
  • Massive stamina and endurance
  • Enhanced recovery capabilities
  • Powerful leaping and mobility

Magnus ranks among the physically strongest individuals on Earth and can battle many high-level superheroes directly.

Skills

[edit]

Despite his brutal reputation, Magnus is not merely a brawler.

  • Highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant
  • Extensive combat experience
  • Tactical experience from terrorist operations and urban warfare
  • Leadership within militant organizations

Years of constant conflict have made him an extremely dangerous close-combat fighter.

Personality

[edit]

Magnus is intense, angry, fiercely loyal, and deeply protective of fellow parahumans. Unlike ideologues who view conflict abstractly, Magnus’s beliefs come from lived experience and years of personal humiliation, fear, and violence.

He genuinely believes humanity will never willingly accept parahumans as equals.

To him, coexistence sounds naïve at best and suicidal at worst.

Though often portrayed publicly as a brute, Magnus possesses a strong sense of loyalty and community toward those he considers “his people.” Within Factor M, he is known for protecting younger or vulnerable parahumans with surprising tenderness.

Unfortunately, that compassion rarely extends beyond his own kind.

Legacy

[edit]

Magnus became one of the defining militant figures of the modern era and one of the most recognizable faces of the parahuman-rights conflict. His rivalry with superheroes and governments helped shape the increasingly polarized political climate surrounding parahumans throughout the modern age.

To many ordinary humans, Magnus represents the nightmare of unchecked superhuman power.

To many parahumans, he represents strength in a world that fears them.

And to Factor M, he remains proof that survival sometimes requires becoming stronger than the people trying to destroy you.
