“Stand up. Doesn’t matter how. Just stand up.”
— Militech
Militech is the armored identity of Harrison Simms, a decorated American soldier and combat instructor who fights crime and terrorism using an advanced powered exoskeleton designed by Maccabee O’Keefe. A mentor to Strike Team: Seattle, Militech is known as much for his discipline and honor as for his firepower.
Background
[edit]Harrison Simms served with distinction in the brutal conflict in Yatakang, where he earned a reputation for courage under fire and calm leadership in impossible situations. During the war, however, Simms suffered catastrophic injuries that left him paraplegic.
For a time, he believed his fighting days were over.
That changed when industrialist and technologist Maccabee O’Keefe approached him with an offer. O’Keefe, himself confined to a wheelchair by a degenerative spinal condition, believed advanced technology could restore not merely mobility, but purpose.
Simms became the first field operative for O’Keefe’s new organization, CounterForce.
The Militech Armor
[edit]To restore Simms’ mobility, CounterForce engineers developed the Militech Exoskeleton, a heavily armed powered armor system directly interfaced with Simms’ nervous system. The suit allowed him to walk again and transformed him into one of CounterForce’s most formidable operatives.
Unlike many armored heroes, Simms never viewed the suit as a symbol of power.
To him, it was a second chance.
Strike Team: Seattle
[edit]Militech later became mentor and field trainer to Strike Team: Seattle, helping shape younger heroes into disciplined operatives capable of functioning in real combat situations.
Though primarily an instructor and tactical coordinator, Simms still occasionally joins the team on active missions when circumstances demand experience and overwhelming force.
Skills
[edit]Even without the armor, Harrison Simms is exceptionally capable.
- Elite military combat training
- Tactical leadership and battlefield coordination
- Firearms expertise
- Technical and mechanical knowledge
- Instruction and mentoring experience
His calm professionalism under pressure has made him highly respected among younger heroes.
Technology
[edit]The Militech Exoskeleton is one of CounterForce’s most advanced combat systems.
- Powered armor enhancing strength and mobility
- Integrated offensive weapon systems
- Advanced tactical sensors and targeting systems
- Reinforced armored plating
- Assault cannon capable of firing multiple ammunition types
The armor functions as both mobility platform and battlefield weapons system.
Personality
[edit]Harrison Simms is disciplined, honorable, and deeply principled. Unlike many heavily armed heroes, he avoids intimidation and excess force whenever possible. He treats heroism as duty rather than spectacle and expects professionalism from those around him.
His manner has often been described as knightly, even by those who disagree with him.
Reputation
[edit]Among younger heroes, Militech is respected as a teacher who demands excellence because he understands the cost of failure. Within CounterForce, he is viewed as one of the organization’s moral anchors: a soldier who never lost sight of why he fights.
Criminals, meanwhile, tend to remember the armor.
Legacy
[edit]Militech represents resilience through technology—not escape from weakness, but adaptation to it. Harrison Simms lost the life he once knew in war and chose not to surrender afterward. Instead, he became something new: a warrior rebuilt through discipline, engineering, and sheer refusal to quit.
