S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) is a team of heavily armed mercenary supervillains specializing in destructive firepower and tactical assault operations. Each member of the organization is associated with a unique signature weapon or combat system, giving the team extraordinary offensive capabilities when operating together.
Unlike ideologically driven villain organizations, S.W.A.T. functions primarily as a professional mercenary outfit. The team hires itself out to criminal syndicates, rogue governments, corporations, and supervillains willing to meet their price. Their services range from security and protection to direct assault, sabotage, intimidation, and large-scale urban warfare.
Though sometimes dismissed as little more than glorified gunmen, S.W.A.T. has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to challenge even experienced superhero teams through overwhelming firepower, battlefield coordination, and sheer destructive capability.
The team’s members are veterans, thrill-seekers, career criminals, or weapons specialists who share a common love of heavy ordinance and violent confrontation.
