Starseer is the ascended identity of Voryn Solas, a master psion and mystic of the Sythari, whose connection to the fundamental currents of thought and energy has elevated him beyond the limits of ordinary perception. As a member of the Hyperguard, he serves not merely as a defender, but as an interpreter of forces that shape the galaxy at levels few can perceive.
Background
[edit]Voryn Solas was born among the Sythari, an ancient species residing on the crystalline moon of Luminar, a world attuned to psionic resonance. The Sythari do not treat thought as an isolated phenomenon, but as part of a greater continuum they call the Ethereal Flow—a pervasive field linking minds, energies, and the underlying structure of existence.
From an early age, Voryn demonstrated an exceptional capacity to engage with this Flow. Where others sensed currents, he navigated them. Where others perceived patterns, he understood their implications. His training emphasized not only power, but balance, reinforcing the principle that perception without restraint leads to distortion.
He advanced quickly.
He did not do so lightly.
The Psionic Plague
[edit]The defining moment of Voryn’s life came when a hostile force introduced a psionic contagion into Luminar’s network of thought, threatening to destabilize not only the Sythari population, but the Ethereal Flow itself. The phenomenon spread rapidly, corrupting perception and fragmenting coherence across the moon.

Voryn chose another approach.

Ascension As Starseer

The Hyperguard
