Tempest is the empowered identity of Wenden Polle, a being of near-limitless cosmic power and the former supreme champion of Terra Ultima. As the leader of the Alpha Legion, he imposed a unified global order upon his world, achieving peace through absolute control. When his reality was destroyed, Tempest carried that philosophy with him into a new universe—and into direct conflict with its defenders.
Background
[edit]Wenden Polle was born on Terra Ultima, a parallel Earth whose history diverged sharply from that of Earth-11717. In a world marked by instability and escalating conflict, Polle was chosen by a godlike cosmic entity and granted powers on a scale few beings have ever possessed.
With those powers came purpose. He became Tempest.
The Alpha Legion
[edit]Tempest did not act alone. He gathered around him a group of similarly empowered individuals who would become known as the Alpha Legion. Together, they imposed a regime of total planetary order, ending war, dismantling opposition, and establishing what they defined as peace.
It was effective. It was absolute.
Under Tempest’s leadership, Terra Ultima became a world without conflict—but also without dissent.
The Alpha Invasion
[edit]The destruction of Terra Ultima ended that order abruptly. The cause remains uncertain, but the result was catastrophic: the Alpha Legion was displaced across dimensional boundaries and deposited on Earth-11717.
Tempest assessed the new world quickly.
He found it wanting.
Believing that the same methods that had “saved” his own world were necessary here, he led the Alpha Legion in an attempt to impose global control. This conflict, known as the Alpha Invasion, brought him into direct opposition with Watchstar and Earth’s broader hero community.
For perhaps the first time, Tempest encountered resistance he could not immediately overcome.
Defeat And Departure
[edit]The Alpha Legion was ultimately defeated, not through superior power, but through a combination of resistance, adaptability, and a refusal to accept Tempest’s definition of peace. Faced with the reality that this world would not submit as his own had, Tempest chose not to escalate the conflict further.
Instead, the Alpha Legion departed through Watchstar's Gate of Horn and Ivory. Their stated goal: to find a way to restore Terra Ultima. Whether that goal is possible remains unknown.

To Tempest, freedom without stability is failure.And stability, once achieved, must be maintained.
Reputation
[edit]Among Earth’s heroes, Tempest is regarded as one of the most dangerous beings they have ever faced—not because of malice, but because of certainty. He does not hesitate, does not doubt, and does not perceive his actions as wrong.
He believes he is right.
And that belief is difficult to challenge.
Legacy
[edit]Tempest stands as a question rather than an answer: what is the value of peace if it is imposed, and what is the cost of refusing it? His actions on Terra Ultima demonstrate one outcome. His failure on Earth-11717 suggests another.
He brought order to one world. He could not impose it on another.
