Timberwolf

Timberwolf is the heroic identity of Richard Quiet River, a Kiowa-descended shapeshifter and former teen hero whose mystical heritage connects him to a long line of tribal guardians. Known for his time with the Supernova Squadron, he remains an occasional protector of Pacific City.

Background

[edit]

Richard Quiet River was born on a reservation in Oklahoma, raised with the knowledge—both cultural and mystical—that his family carried an ancient legacy. For generations, members of his bloodline had served as magical warriors, gifted with the ability to take on the form of the wolf.

As a teenager, Richard moved to Pacific City, where his life took a dramatic turn. His academic success earned him admission to Nathaniel Nova High School, a place that would introduce him to a hidden world of young heroes.

There, he formed a relationship with Tawny Daniels, who secretly led the Supernova Squadron. When his powers became known, Richard joined the team, quickly establishing himself as one of its most capable members.

Career

[edit]
Timberwolf as a teen hero

As Timberwolf, Richard played a key role in the activities of the Supernova Squadron, contributing both raw power and tracking ability to the team’s operations.

His abilities made him particularly effective in situations requiring stealth, pursuit, or close combat. Unlike many of his teammates, whose powers were technological or scientific in origin, Timberwolf’s abilities carried a spiritual dimension, adding a different perspective to the team dynamic.

After his time with the Squadron, Richard stepped back from full-time team activity. However, he has continued to appear in Pacific City as an occasional crimefighter, responding when his instincts—or his sense of duty—call him to action.

Powers

[edit]

Timberwolf’s abilities are rooted in his mystical heritage.

  • Ability to transform into a powerful wolf-like form
  • Enhanced strength, agility, and endurance in transformed state
  • Heightened senses, including smell, hearing, and night vision
  • Natural stealth and near-silent movement

Skills

[edit]

Richard Quiet River’s abilities extend beyond his transformation.

  • Expert tracker, particularly in his wolf form
  • Skilled close-quarters combatant
  • Highly capable at stealth and infiltration
  • Strong survival instincts and environmental awareness

Technology

[edit]

Timberwolf does not rely on technology, drawing his power entirely from his mystical lineage.

Personality

[edit]

Richard is grounded, thoughtful, and connected to both his heritage and his experiences as a modern young man. He balances the responsibilities of his lineage with the realities of contemporary life.

He is loyal to his friends and teammates, but also values independence, often following his instincts rather than strict plans.

Reputation

[edit]

Among former teammates, Timberwolf is remembered as a reliable and formidable ally.

In Pacific City, he is something more elusive—a protector who appears when needed, then disappears back into the shadows.

Legacy

[edit]

Timberwolf represents the continuation of an ancient tradition in a modern world. Through him, the legacy of his ancestors endures, adapted to new challenges and new environments.

He is both past and present—a warrior of the old ways walking among the new.
