Valentina is a centuries-old vampire and occult operative whose long undead existence has carried her through shifting eras of history, crime, sorcery, and bloodshed. Once enslaved to the will of the dark magician Bad Moon, Valentina eventually became entangled in a turbulent and deeply complicated relationship with Hex, one that has alternated between romance, betrayal, violence, and reluctant loyalty over the years.
Though undeniably dangerous and predatory, Valentina occupies an uneasy place between villain, antihero, and tragic immortal survivor.
She has spent a century feeding on humanity.
And almost as long trying to remember what it felt like to still be human herself.
Before The Darkness
[edit]Little reliable information survives concerning Valentina Ramos’s mortal life. What is known suggests she lived approximately a century ago and came from a poor but close-knit community somewhere in Latin America or the American Southwest.
Accounts describe her as intelligent, fiercely independent, and unusually strong-willed for her era. Unfortunately, those same qualities attracted the attention of a wandering vampire lord who preyed upon isolated communities while concealing himself among human society.
Valentina was selected not merely as food.
She was chosen for transformation.
The Turning
[edit]The vampire drained Valentina nearly to death before resurrecting her as one of the undead. The process destroyed her mortal life completely. Family, friends, identity, and future all vanished in a single night beneath the compulsions of vampiric hunger.
Unlike romanticized legends, Valentina’s early undeath was brutal and terrifying. She spent years under the domination of her sire, learning the instincts and predatory habits of vampire existence through violence and survival.
Eventually she escaped.
But freedom did not restore her humanity.
It merely left her alone with eternity.
Servant Of Bad Moon
[edit]Decades later, Valentina fell under the control of the occult sorcerer Bad Moon, who sought supernatural servants capable of carrying out tasks too dangerous or morally compromising for ordinary followers.
Through dark magic and binding rites, Bad Moon forced Valentina into his service.
As his unwilling operative, she performed assassinations, recoveries, and occult missions across the criminal supernatural underworld. It was during this period that she first encountered Hex, whose investigations into occult disturbances repeatedly crossed paths with Bad Moon’s schemes.
Their first meetings were openly hostile.
That did not last.
Valentina And Hex
[edit]Over time, the relationship between Valentina and Hex evolved into one of the strangest and most emotionally volatile partnerships in the occult corners of the Crucible Universe.
Hex viewed her at first as little more than another supernatural predator.
Valentina viewed him as an irritating obstacle.
Yet repeated encounters slowly revealed unexpected similarities beneath their hostility. Both were isolated figures trapped between worlds. Both carried emotional scars buried beneath sarcasm and aggression. And both possessed enough stubbornness to survive circumstances that should have destroyed them long ago.
What emerged between them was not stable romance so much as a cycle of attraction, betrayal, loyalty, resentment, and reluctant affection.
They have saved each other’s lives repeatedly.
They have also tried to kill each other more than once.
Powers And Abilities
[edit]As a vampire, Valentina possesses a wide range of supernatural abilities associated with the undead.
Her powers include:

She masks vulnerability with sarcasm, flirtation, and calculated cruelty, often pushing others away before they can disappoint or betray her.
Yet traces of her lost humanity remain stubbornly intact.
Unlike truly monstrous vampires who view humans purely as prey, Valentina retains genuine emotional attachments and occasional flashes of compassion — though she often seems annoyed by her own conscience afterward.
Her relationship with Hex especially reveals a side of her that she prefers to hide: loneliness.
Immortality, she discovered, is much less glamorous than legends claim.
Legacy
[edit]Valentina became one of the defining supernatural anti-villains of the modern era, blending gothic horror, vampire mythology, occult noir, tragic romance, and dangerous sensuality into a recurring figure in Hex’s world.
Because for all her predatory instincts and immortal cruelty, part of Valentina Ramos still remembers being alive.
And that memory may be the only thing preventing her from becoming a true monster.
