Peril Patrol: The Roleplaying Game

[edit]

Four attributes! Two powers! One index card! Absolutely no character balance!

WE NEED THIS JOB!

Peril Patrol: The Roleplaying Game is a fast, rules-light superhero RPG set in Skyscraper City, where heroes battle mad scientists, monsters, alien conquerors, badly supervised robuts, unionized Goons and their own terrible judgment.

The heroes are real heroes. The villains are real villains. The danger is real. The consequences are negotiable.

About the Game

[edit]

Peril Patrol is built for fast character creation, broad superhero Powers, wild improvised Stunts and comic-book logic.

Characters fit on a 3×5 index card. Powers are flexible rather than exhaustively defined. Villains do not have to be fair. Failure makes things worse instead of stopping the story.

There are no Secret Origins, tortured backstories, point-balanced Power builds or long equipment lists.

If making the character takes more than five minutes, simplify.

Find the joke. Make the character. Fight crime.

The Rules

[edit]

Create a hero, villain, sidekick, monster or robut in about five minutes.

The basic action rules, Attributes, Talents, difficulty and Stunts.

Combat, damage, Goons, knockback and getting blasted Out of the Panel.

Threats, boasts, speeches and villainous exposition as a form of attack.

Earn trouble. Spend it to bend comic-book reality.

Generic Powers, player-defined SFX and flexible superhero Stunts.

Signature Gear, Mystery Gadgets, battle armor, giant robots and the Peril Plane.

Villains, Goons, Stupid Weaknesses, unfair fights and keeping the issue moving.

Instant complications, gadget failures, Goon nonsense and issue generators.

Running adventures, recurring villains, loose continuity and the Big Finish.

READY?

Grab an index card. Grab two dice. And wait for something to explode.
