Inferno is the heroic identity of Devon Gray, a powerful parahuman and one of the founding members of Watchstar. The son of the infamous terrorist Lucifer (Lucius Gray), Devon has spent his life confronting and ultimately rejecting his father’s legacy, forging his own identity as one of the most formidable and uncompromising heroes of his generation.

Origin

Devon Gray was born into the shadow of greatness—and terror. His father, Lucius Gray, was the Silver Age parahuman known as Lucifer, a figure whose actions left a lasting mark on the world.

Like his father, Devon was born a parahuman. His powers manifested during adolescence, taking the form of intense heat and flame manipulation. At first, he followed his father’s path, influenced by both blood and proximity.

But Devon saw the truth of what Lucifer had become.

And he turned away.

Breaking From Lucifer

Rejecting his father’s ideology and actions was not a single moment, but a process. Devon came to understand the scale of the harm Lucifer had caused, and made the conscious decision to oppose him.

That choice defined the rest of his life.

Where Lucifer became a symbol of destruction, Devon became one of resistance.

Watchstar

Inferno during the Bronze Age

Inferno was a charter member of Watchstar, helping to establish the team as one of the premier superhero organizations of its era. His power, discipline, and willingness to make hard decisions made him a central figure within the group.

Star Flight
